June marks PTSD Awareness Month – the ideal opportunity to shine a light on hidden struggles faced by so many daily. For many survivors of domestic abuse, trauma isn’t just something they experienced – it’s something they still live with every day. Flashbacks, dissociation, fear, anxiety, and shame can follow us for years after the abuse ends; many people are unable to express this, which can prove debilitating.
Trauma changes how we think, how we trust, and how we look at the world. For too many survivors, traditional therapy is not accessible for a myriad of reasons, whether because of long waitlists, financial strain, cultural stigma, or fear of retraumatisation. At UKind, we aim to offer something new for those who may not engage with traditional therapy, with our software meeting people where they are, emotionally and digitally. With immersive environments, guided check-ins, and AI-powered reflection tools, we’re helping survivors rebuild their sense of safety and purpose, aiming to tackle PTSD symptoms such as hypervigilance and low self-worth.
UKind are incredibly excited to attend CLIMB 2025 on July 2nd-3rd, where we will be showcasing our trauma-informed VR software, UKind XR. A launchpad for social change founded by Gordon Bateman, CLIMB brings together founders, changemakers, and tech-for-good pioneers, giving us a chance to show what survivor-led therapeutic innovation really looks like.
At CLIMB, we will be sharing the research, the impact, and importantly, the stories of real people using UKind XR to move from crisis to confidence. It’s about more than software. It’s about healing with dignity, autonomy, and support.
